This is a full-time remote role for a DevOps Engineer. The DevOps Engineer will be responsible for managing the infrastructure as code (IaC), continuous integration, software development, system administration, and Linux. The DevOps Engineer will also be responsible for identifying, analyzing, and resolving infrastructure and application-related issues. They will also work with the development, QA, and product teams to ensure maximum performance, compatibility, and availability of the infrastructure.

As a DevOps Engineer joining our team, you will help build our software services:

  • Kausal Paths, a simulation platform for forecasting how a city develops over time especially in relation to greenhouse gas emissions, but also including financial, health, and social equity impact of climate actions.

  • Kausal Watch, which helps a city coordinate and monitor climate work, making the implementation of a city's climate action plan more efficient. Real-time dashboards and collaborative data updates reduce the overhead related to managing, communicating and reporting on the climate actions publicly.

We are looking for candidates with:

  • Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
  • Expertise in creating and managing Infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Ansible and Pulumi
  • Experience with Continuous Integration, including configuring and maintaining CI systems such as GitHub Actions
  • Experience with monitoring solutions such as Prometheus, Grafana and Datadog
  • Strong System Administration skills and experience working with Linux Experience in troubleshooting and resolving infrastructure and application-related issues
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure is a plus
